- i used materials in my assemblage, “contained chaos” that reflected nostalgia, as a part of discovering my identity was looking back at what shaped me in my childhood. i used old barbie clothing in my portrait to reflect my childhood and how although i may not play with barbies anymore, i carried the imaginative side of myself throughout my life and it has never gone away. the barbie clothing gave me the idea to use photos for the background. i had a collage kit that was not being used and felt that incorporating it into my piece could bring use to it. mixing the fabrics and photos helped me achieve the overall idea of nostalgia throughout my portrait. “contained chaos” represents the shaping of my identity through my childhood.
